How Does Virtual Mental Health Support Work?

During online sessions, caregivers can have opportunities to:

  • Explore feelings: Process the joys and challenges of caregiving, express  concerns, and unpack difficult emotions without judgment.
  • Develop coping strategies: Learn practical skills for managing stress, regulating emotions, setting boundaries, and practicing self-care.
  • Build resilience: Identify their  strengths, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and build resilience to navigate the ups and downs of caregiving.
  • Reduce feelings of isolation: Feeling connected and less alone in their parenting  experiences.
  • Address specific concerns: Whether it’s  postpartum depression, anxiety related to fostering, or the stress of being a busy parent, we can tailor our approach to clients’ specific needs.
  • Here’s what a session might look like: Imagine a new foster parent struggling with the emotional rollercoaster of caring for a child who has experienced trauma.
